In 2017, I launched an Instagram page called @ladycameraguy with the aim of showcasing and promoting women camera operators that I discovered on Instagram. The main objective was to repost their stories on @ladycameraguy, allowing women in the field to appreciate images of fellow women in action while reading their narratives.
Through sharing the amazing work of these women, I witnessed a remarkable connection forming among female cinematographers worldwide, transcending geographical boundaries from Trinidad to India, Canada to Africa.
@ladycameraguy has now evolved into a global tribute to female camera operators, amassing over 77,000 followers and continuing to grow. This platform presents a unique opportunity to expand connections with more women in the industry while also serving as an inspiration for the next generation of women cinematographers.
I’m pleased to announce we just launched www.ladycameraguy.com which is a one-stop shop for accessing information on camera organizations, hiring services, gear recommendations, internships, mentorships, and podcasts. I firmly believe that by uniting and supporting one another, our artistry and roles within this industry will flourish.
